2004R Billet 6061 Aluminum Direct Clutch Apply Piston

The Factory 2004R Direct piston is a stamped steel with a small stamped apply ring with an apply width of .030. The contact area is lower than center. This causes uneven apply of the Direct clutch pack that results in coning of the direct clutch pack, premature wear and loss of apply area. The Aluminum Direct apply piston has an apply area of .450 and utilizes full contact. This spreads the apply over the entire surface of the steels and backing plate. Prevents coning of the clutch pack and extends clutch life and HP capacity. The Aluminum Piston is lighter and reacts quicker to shorten shift times. A must for dual feeding and Hi HP applications.
